Dr. John Cormack

Training
John is an Anaesthetist with extensive training in his
specialty since graduating as a doctor in 1984. He then continued to complete post graduate diplomas in obstetrics and with the English faculty of Anaesthetists before completing his anaesthetic fellowship in Australia in 1992. He spent 30 years in the public health system at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne and the Eye and Ear Hospital teaching young anaesthetists their craft whilst becoming a credentialed anaesthetist at the three largest private hospital complexes in Melbourne: St Vincent's Private, Cabrini Health and Epworth Health as well as many smaller hospitals.
Experience
He is trained in all forms of anaesthesia and has published 30 research papers in clinically relevant areas including anaesthesia for neurosurgery, regional anaesthesia, urological anaesthesia, clinical pharmacology and difficult airway techniques. He has donated his time as a senior clinical lecturer at University of Melbourne, as a clinical research fellow at Swinburne University and as an examiner with the College of Anaesthetists.
Outside interests
John is a community minded anaesthetist still finding time to teach medical students and nurses within the prviate system. He is a keen advocate for physical fitness and promotes a health lifestyle to those he meets. Above all, he is a caring doctor, keen to listen and determined to help patients through their surgical journey as easily as possible.
